One highlight is good, but on this bike tour, one is never enough. This longer loop starts and finishes at Camping Kikmolen, at cycle junction 61, and connects some of the most memorable cycling experiences in Midden Limburg into one route.

From Kikmolen, you cycle towards the green heart of the region and will soon be immersed in the atmosphere of the Hoge Kempen National Park. Via quiet forest paths, you will reach the vicinity of Zutendaal and Kattevennen, one of the most important gateways to the park. The landscape becomes increasingly open here. You will soon reach the well-known "Cycling Through the Heathland" route, a special section through the Mechelse Heathland, where the views suddenly widen and the landscape seems endless. In late summer, the heathland can turn a beautiful purple, and during the golden hour, the atmosphere is truly magical.

Would you like to enjoy the most beautiful panorama? Then make a short stop at a viewpoint, such as the observation tower at Station As or the Bliksemtrap at Kattevennen. From there, you can look out over the National Park and the Limburg mining past.

After that, the route changes character again. You follow the lines of the Limburg mining story and cycle past old mining corridors, past places like Waterschei, Zwartberg and Winterslag, heading towards Genk and Bokrijk. And just when you think you've seen it all, you reach the iconic experience of Cycling through Water. This unique cycle path runs right through a pond, with the water's surface at eye level on both sides. It's one of those moments you'll definitely talk about later at the campsite.

After this triple wow experience, you follow the cycle network back to Camping Kikmolen. You end the loop with the wonderful feeling that you have experienced a true Limburgian top selection of cycling experiences in one day.
