Spider walk

Embark on a magical family walk in Maasmechelen and step into the world of tiny spiders. The Spider Walk is part of the “Boekstappers” series, short themed routes where reading, listening, and playing come together.

During this 3.3 km route, approximately 2 hours of walking, children will follow the story of the Webster spider family. Ragje, the youngest of the family, finds it difficult to weave her first web. But with a little help from her family, she discovers the secret.

On the go, children can:

  • Five wooden statues to find, hidden along the route
  • A peek inside the spiderlings' lunchbox
  • Trying to make a real spiderweb yourself.

The walk takes you through the peaceful nature around Maasmechelen and is suitable for buggies in dry weather. After the walk, the picture book “My Most Beautiful Spiderweb” is available from Visit Maasmechelen or in the bookshop, so you can take the story home with you too.

📍 Starting point Spoorwegstraat 10, Maasmechelen
👧 Recommended age: from 4 years
Duration around 2 hours
